The Future of Computing Education

In order to advance computing technology to the next level of performance in future years, we need to revise how students are trained in computer science and engineering. The following articles survey new programs in computer education covering cybersecurity and parallel programming, two increasingly important topics:

“The Future of Cybersecurity Education”, McDuffie and Piotrowski, IEEE Computer Magazine, August 2014 http://www.computer.org/csdl/mags/co/2014/08/mco2014080067-abs.html

“Introducing Parallel Computing in Undergraduate Curriculum”, Brown, Lu, and Midkiff, IEEE Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing, 2013. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/login.jsp?tp=&arnumber=6651016
