Video on IEEE Rebooting Computing

The IEEE Future Directions initiative "Rebooting Computing" brings together IEEE volunteers and the world technical community to rethink the computer in light of the end of Moore's law as we know it. A holistic approach is considered, covering all aspects of computing.

The Rebooting Computing (RC) Initiative works from a holistic viewpoint, taking into account evolutionary and revolutionary approaches. It sponsors Summits and co-sponsors workshops and conferences on related topics.

There is multi-Society participation from the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS), IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA), IEEE Computer Society (CS), IEEE Technical Council on Superconductivity (CSC), IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS), IEEE Magnetics Society (MAG), IEEE Reliability Society (RS), IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) and IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSC). In addition, RC collaborates with the International Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS 2.0) and is developing, with ITRS 2.0, a new joint roadmap within the IEEE Standards Association, under the title International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IRDS™).
